Mk2 Tri-Porter Transport made easier
Building on the Mk2 platform comes one of two dedicated Tri-Porters in the range: the Mk2 Tri-Porter. Carrying the Mk2 name, this barrow is built on the same platform as the trusty Mk2 and utilises three slimline-style wheels to provide an easier push. If you want more info on the Mk2 design look here [link] This article will focus on the specifics of the Tri-Porter variation. Available in Olive Green, this barrow is perfect for those who want minimal effort when transporting their gear or require a helping hand to get bankside.
Rear Wheels
The main feature of this barrow is the additional two wheels fitted to the rear of the barrow. This means pushing the barrow is incredibly easy and, more importantly, you don’t have to lift any weight at all while pushing. The rear wheels are secured in place using 2 methods for extra security:
- Locking Pin: Fits into pre-drilled holes in the axle assembly, allowing you to adjust the rear height.
- Thumbscrew: Secures the axle assembly within the rear leg, preventing any movement in the assembly.
This simple yet effective method of fixing the wheels ensures that, despite the extra metalwork, the barrow is still incredibly easy to break down and fold flat.
User-Friendly Handle Design
The handlebars are designed similarly to a pram handle, making it easier to push the barrow. Below the pram handles is a smaller set of handles, which are key for helping the barrow perform tight turns or lift over particularly troublesome terrain.
Brake Mechanism
Below the handle system is the barrow’s brake mechanism. A spring-loaded bar snaps down to secure the wheel in place whenever you stop on uneven ground, giving you peace of mind that the barrow won’t roll away when you step away from it.
Exceptional Load Space
The load space on this barrow is exceptional. The adjustable side bars, along with the adjustable taller front bar, provide a large area for loading. In its most compact configuration, there is still plenty of room for your kit during shorter sessions. When fully extended, the barrow offers as much space as you could need. The barrow also features a large drop-in bag, which can be upgraded to a zipped-top version if desired.
Customisable Front Bar and Luggage Options
The front bar features a shelf that fits perfectly with our front bag options, including the Front Food Bag, Basic Front Bag, and Compact Front Bag. The barrow is also compatible with the new Dark Kamo range of luggage. As with all our barrows, the majority of parts are interchangeable, allowing you to customise the barrow to your specific needs.
